The CHP reported that a driver was traveling north in the southbound lanes of I-5 when they clipped an oncoming vehicle, which tried to swerve to avoid it

Maxwell, CA.- Injuries were reported in a multi-vehicle collision in Maxwell on Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened on Interstate 5, north of Maxwell Road, shortly before 10:30 a.m. January 31.
The CHP reported that a driver was traveling north in the southbound lanes of I-5 when they clipped an oncoming vehicle, which tried to swerve to avoid it.
The impact caused the second car to sideswipe a third vehicle.
Minor injuries were reported in the incident.
The driver who was heading the wrong way, only identified as an elderly Willows resident, may have been suffering from dementia, according to the CHP.
The cause of the collision remained under investigation.
