The driver of one of the big rigs was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries
Thousand Palms, CA. – 31-year-old Fabian Zamora, of Indio, had been identified by the Riverside County Coroner's Office as the man who died in a car crash in Thousand Palms on Tuesday night.
The double-fatal crash happened on Interstate 10 Freeway near Varner Road at around 1 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A car and two big rigs were involved in the collision. The circumstances surrounding the collision were not immediately determined.
Zamora and 49-year-old Carolina Navarrete De Leal of Coachella were killed in the accident.
