Hollywood, FL. – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Hollywood on Saturday.
According to the Hollywood Fire Rescue, the accident happened on Florida’s Turnpike near Taft Street.
A Nissan traveling north quickly switched lanes to avoid a crash, but ended up crashing into a freightliner instead.
The freightliner then struck a Ram truck, which ended up over the barrier and in the southbound lanes where it was hit by a water management truck.
A white Ford van also crashed into the freightliner, which had stopped on top of the barrier.
A 35-year-old man from North Miami was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
Four other people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
