Hillsboro, OR – Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a bicyclist in Hillsboro on Tuesday evening.
According to the Hillsboro Police Department, the wreck happened at about 8:30 p.m. June 23, in the area of East Main Street and Northeast Century Boulevard.
Authorities reported that Connor Logan Navarro, 19, was riding a bicycle in the area when he was hit by a vehicle. The exact circumstances under which the incident happened were still being investigated.
According to the report, Navarro was killed in the accident. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
Investigators believe the driver’s speed played a role in the accident. The driver, identified as Guillen Contreras Salvador-Jaime, 35, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and reckless driving.
