Coos County, OR – The man who was killed on Saturday morning in a head-on collision in Coos County has been identified as Heather Renee Leach, 37, of Reedsport, according to the Oregon State Police.
The fatal crash happened at around 10:44 a.m. on October 4, 2025. on Highway 42 near milepost 27.
OSP said an eastbound Chevrolet 1500, driven by Leach, lost control and entered the westbound lanes before colliding head-on with an oncoming Ford F-350, operated by Nicholas Glenn Taylor, 56, of Grant Pass.
Leach was pronounced dead at the scene.
Taylor and his passenger, Holly Helene Taylor (53) of Grants Pass, sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities said the highway was impacted for about two hours.
The OSP is investigating the accident.
