Heather Hosey Killed, Ruston Thommen and Christian Sagrero Hospitalized after Multi-Car Crash on Highway 20 near Milepost 4 in Lincoln County

County, OR – The Oregon State Police has identified a victim killed in a three-vehicle collision on Highway 20 in Lincoln County Thursday morning as Heather Maria Paz Hosey, 42, of Newport.

The police responded to the gisly wreck at around 7:07 a.m. on April 17 on State Route 20 near milepost 4.

Reportedly, an eastbound GMC Terrace driven by Hosey, crossed the centerline for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a westbound Dodge Journey operated by Ruston Lee Thommen, 46, of Halsey.

The GMC rotated and was struck by a westbound Dodge Dakota operated by Christian Layfield Sagrero, 19, of Newport, that was following the Dodge Journey.

The Dodge Journey caught fire due to the collision and became fully engulfed in flames.

Hosey was declared deceased at the scene.

Thommen, who was able to exit the vehicle, suffered unknown injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

Sagrero suffered minor injuries and was transported for evaluation.

The highway was impacted for approximately three hours during the on-scene investigation.

An investigation is underway.
