Hacienda Heights, CA – At least one person was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash on State Route 60 in Hacienda Heights on Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred on the eastbound SR-60 just west of the Hacienda Boulevard off-ramp at approximately 8:34 a.m.
Authorities reported that the crash involved six vehicles, including a white work truck that initially crashed into the center divider wall. The impact led to a chain-reaction collision involving multiple additional vehicles, with reports indicating a possible semi-truck among those involved. Several vehicles came to rest facing the wrong way and against the right-hand wall.
At least one person sustained major injuries in the crash, though officials have not released the identities of those involved or confirmed the total number of injured victims. No arrests were reported.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but preliminary information suggests the initial collision with the center divider may have triggered the multi-vehicle pileup.
Emergency responders, including the Los Angeles County Fire Department and officers from the California Highway Patrol, responded to the scene and worked to assist victims and manage traffic.
The crash caused significant disruption, prompting authorities to issue a SigAlert and shut down all lanes for approximately 45 minutes. Traffic congestion built up heavily in the area before lanes were gradually reopened and the SigAlert was canceled.
The incident remains under investigation.
