Hacienda Heights, CA – At least one person suffered major injuries following a multi-vehicle crash on State Route 60 in Hacienda Heights Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at about 8:34 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of State Route 60 just west of the Hacienda Boulevard off-ramp on Thursday, March 12.
Preliminary reports indicate that the crash involved several vehicles, including a white work truck that reportedly collided with the center divider wall. Authorities later determined that up to six vehicles were involved in the chain-reaction collision, and a semi-truck may also have been part of the incident. One vehicle was also reported facing the wrong way along the right shoulder after the impact.
Officials reported that at least one person sustained major injuries in the crash. Information about the identities of those involved or the total number of injured individuals has not been released.
The cause of the Hacienda Heights crash remains under investigation, and it is not yet clear what led to the multi-vehicle collision on the busy freeway.
Emergency responders, including the Los Angeles County Fire Department, arrived at the scene shortly after the crash to assist victims and manage the situation.
The crash caused significant traffic disruption along eastbound State Route 60, prompting authorities to issue a SigAlert and temporarily close all lanes for approximately 45 minutes while crews handled the emergency and cleared the roadway.
Authorities later reopened all lanes and closed the incident shortly before midday. The multi-vehicle crash in Hacienda Heights remains under investigation.
