Chavez was killed in the accident, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office
Moss Landing, CA. – A woman died after being struck by a car on Sunday night near Moss Landing in Monterey County.
The fatal auto-pedestrian accident happened around 10:53 p.m. on Highway 1 near Portero Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Guadalupe Chavez, 41, was walking in the southbound lane of Highway 1 and was struck by a blue 2012 Hyundai driven by a 42-year-old man from Aptos.
Chavez, a resident of Castroville, was killed in the accident, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver of the Hyundai was unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
