Geoff Bishop, 45, of Menifee, was walking in the No. 1 lane of the southbound 215 Freeway when he was hit by a Mercedes E350

Menifee, CA.– A car struck and killed a pedestrian walking on a highway in Menifee early Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident took place on the 215 Freeway south of McCall Boulevard at around 1:29 a.m. November 4.
Investigators said Geoff Bishop, 45, of Menifee, was walking in the No. 1 lane of the southbound 215 Freeway when he was hit by a Mercedes E350.
Bishop was declared dead at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 41-year-old Menifee man, stayed at the scene and was not suspected to have been impaired.
The southbound lanes of the freeway were shut down at McCall Boulevard as authoritities investigated the incident.
The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
