Gabriel Garcia Arrested after Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Broadway and Terrace Roads in Tempe

Tempe, Ariz. – A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash at an intersection in Tempe early this month.

According to a police report, the wreck happened at around 8:20 p.m. on April 1 at Broadway and Terrace Roads.

The Tempe Police said 55-year-old Gabriel Villa Garcia was driving a westbound car when he struck a pedestrian crossing Broadway Road.

Garcia stopped momentarily and left the scene before authorities arrived.

The victim sustained severe injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Records show the suspect allegedly repainted his vehicle and fixed the windshield shortly after the crash.

Garcia was arrested on April 13 and he’s facing charges of failing to remain at the scene of a crash, failing to render aid, and tampering with evidence.

No more information about the accident was provided.

An investigation is underway.
