Gabriel Coury Killed in Kent Pedestrian Crash on 132nd Ave
Kent, Washington (July 14, 2023) – The 12-year-old child who was hit and killed by a vehicle in Kent Tuesday evening has been identified as Gabriel Coury.
According to the Kent Police Department, the crash took place at 132nd Ave SE near SE 130th Street at about 7:01 p.m. July 11.
Police said a 19-year-old Kent man behind the wheel of a car struck Coury, who was on his scooter.
People passing by stopped and tried to aid Coury until medics arrived.
Despite life-saving measures, Coury was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver was located near the scene and was arrested on charges of vehicular manslaughter.
Police believe the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
