100-Year-Old Woman Killed in Fresno County Collision on Auberry and Old Millerton Roads

Fresno County, CA – An elderly woman was killed when two vehicles got into a collision at an intersection in Fresno County on Thursday afternoon.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred near Millerton Lake at the Auberry and Old Millerton roads intersection shortly before 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 23.

Investigators reported that an 18-year-old Clovis woman was driving a Toyota sedan in the area when she failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with a Nissan sedan that was driven by an 88-year-old man from Prather. The impact pushed both vehicles off the roadway and into an embankment.

A 100-year-old woman riding as a passenger in the Nissan was killed in the collision. Her name was not immediately released.

The Nissan driver and two other passengers in the car were hospitalized with moderate to major injuries. The 18-year-old driver was also transported with major injuries.

According to CHP, alcohol and drugs were not believed to have factored in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
