Fresno, CA – An elderly Clovis couple died in a collision between two vehicles at an intersection in Fresno County on Friday morning, according to the authorities.
The wreck took place near Auberry and Summit Mountain roads on Friday, January 16.
According to the investigators, the couple was in a vehicle traveling on Auberry Road when an oncoming Dodge Durango drifted across thr the center line and the two vehicles crashed head-on.
The crash left the couple dead at the scene. They were identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as Ted Amber, 87, and Sharon Amber, 86, both from Clovis.
The driver of the Dodge, Lazaro Hernandez, 21, was arrested on charges of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
Authorities said impairment was ruled out as a possible factor in the collision.
No additional details about the accident were provided. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
