Fresno, CA – A 4-year-old boy was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash at an intersection in Fresno Tuesday night, according to authorities.

The collision occurred at Peach Avenue and Nevada Avenue at approximately 8:00 p.m. on April 28.

Investigators said the child had been playing in the backyard of a home as his father and uncle worked nearby. The boy then walked into the roadway and was hit by a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Aman Kumar. Kumar, who was traveling northbound on Peach Avenue, struck the child and fled the scene.

The boy sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital. Reports indicate that the boy is expected to survive.

Kumar was later located by the police and taken into custody.

The incident remains under investigation by Fresno police.
