Fresno, CA – Nine people, including deputies, were injured when a patrol vehicle pursuing a driver collided with a Fresno City bus Tuesday afternoon, authorities reported.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the accident happened just after 5:30 p.m. on September 1, 2026, near Stanislaus Street and M Street.

Authorities said prior to the crash, two deputies were parked on a one-way road outside the Fresno County Superior Courthouse when they noticed a white sedan speeding in the wrong direction.

The deputies activated the sirens to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued driving, prompting a chase.

During the pursuit, the deputies collided with a Fresno city bus near Stanislaus and M streets.

Nine people, including the two deputies, the bus driver, and six passengers on the bus, were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The driver who was being chased fled without being arrested, but a search is ongoing.
