Fresno, CA – A 13-year-old boy was killed, and a 12-year-old suffered critical injuries in a collision involving a motorized scooter and a truck at an intersection in Fresno on Friday night.

The Fresno Police Department was called at around 10:40 p.m. at the intersection of Bullard and Palm avenues regarding the wreck.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a white truck was traveling west on Bullard Avenue and entered the intersection at Palm Avenue when it collided with a motorized scooter occupied by two teens.

Both juveniles were transported to the hospital, where the lead rider, the 13-year-old boy, was pronounced dead. The 12-year-old passenger was hospitalized with critical injuries.

The names of the deceased and the injured victim were not immediately disclosed.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

Police said neither drugs nor alcohol was a factor in the crash.
