The crash happened at about 10:03 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025, on Interstate 5, near milepost 269.
Marion County, OR – A 57-year-old man, identified as Frank Alden Kaneaster Jr., 57, of Molalla, was killed in a single-vehicle collision on 5 Freeway in Salem late Sunday night, according to the Oregon State Police.
The crash happened at about 10:03 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025, on Interstate 5, near milepost 269.
According to OSP, investigators determined that Kaneaster Jr. was driving a Toyota Tacoma southbound on I-5 when, for some reason, the vehicle left the roadway and crashed through several fences and struck a tree.
Kaneaster Jr. was declared dead at the scene.
The freeway was not closed during the investigation.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
