Federal Way, WA – A man was killed in an auto-pedestrian collision that took place early Sunday morning in Federal Way.

According to a report by the Federal Way Police Department, the incident took place in the 36600 block of Pacific Highway South at around 5:46 a.m. September 6.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a pedestrian was walking in the northbound lanes of Pacific Highway South when he was hit by a vehicle that was also headed north.

The victim was declared deceased at the scene. He has since been identified by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office as Vinny Todd Buttafuoco, 41.

The involved driver stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the investigators.

According to investigators, the driver did not display any signs of impairment.

No further details were released and authorities are still investigating to find out what led up to the accident.
