Federal Way, WA – One person was killed in a collision between a car and a semi-truck in Federal Way on Tuesday morning, according to a report by the Washington State Patrol.
The wreck happened on Interstate 5 near Federal Way Rest Area at around 9:54 a.m. on July 28.
According to the WSP, a car was traveling northbound on I-5 when it slowed down for traffic ahead. A semi-truck driver traveling behind the car did not slow down in time and crashed into its rear.
The driver of the big rig was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was declared deceased at the scene.
There was no update on the condition of the other driver involved.
The accident caused a closure of at least two northbound lanes for hours as authorities investigated the incident.
The WSP is conducting an investigation into the collision.
