Fairfield, CA – A motorcyclist suffered major injuries Wednesday morning after a collision involving a motorcycle and multiple vehicles on eastbound Interstate 80 in Fairfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at approximately 8:17 a.m. Wednesday on eastbound I-80, just west of I-680, near Exit 40.
Initial reports indicated that a white Acura sedan collided with a motorcycle, leaving the rider down in the slow lane. A third vehicle was involved in the collision.
The rider was found on the roadway suffering from major injuries.
One vehicle was reported to have significant damage, including a missing front wheel. Fire and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene.
The collision initially blocked multiple lanes, but all lanes were reported open by 8:46 a.m.
The incident remains under investigation
