Everett, WA – A man was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle near an intersection in Everett on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a report by the Everett Police Department, the collision occurred near Evergreen Way and Holly Drive at around 1:15 p.m. on July 21.

Authorities reported that a 70-year-old man was attempting to walk across the roadway when he was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound on Evergreen Way. Initial witness reports indicate that the victim may have been jaywalking to board a bus when he was struck.

Everett police and crews from the Everett Fire Department arrived within minutes and located the injured victim.

Medics evaluated the pedestrian at the scene, then transferred him to a hospital for further treatment. There was no update on the condition of the injured victim.

Details on the driver of the vehicle involved were not immediately provided.

Two northbound lanes of Evergreen Way were shut down for hours as authorities examined and cleared the scene.

The accident is under investigation by the Everett Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
