Preliminary reports indicate that an 8-year-old girl was walking in the area when she was hit by a vehicle operated by a student driver. The exact circumstances of the collision were not yet established.
The Eureka Police Department and EMTs soon after arrived at the scene and found the girl at the yard of a home.
