Eugene, OR – A pedestrian was among three people injured in a two-vehicle crash that left one car leaning against a pole on Saturday night in Eugene, according to police.

Authorities first received a report on the incident shortly before 9:15 p.m. December 20, in the 1700 block of Franklin Boulevard.

According to investigators, a white Subaru was exiting a parking lot when it came upon three pedestrians on its path. Two pedestrians were able to move out of the way to avoid the Subaru but the third was hit.

The struck pedestrian, only identified as a 40-year-old man, was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A blue Subaru was also involved in the accident and it came a to a rest leaning vertically against a power pole. Two people were inside the Subaru and had to be extricated.

After being pulled out of the vehicle, the two were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The two occupants of white Subaru were not injured. Authorities said they were both aged 73.

Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs was not believed to have factored in the incident, police said. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
