Eugene, OR – One person was hospitalized after a crash between a vehicle and a motorcycle in west Eugene on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a report by Eugene police, the wreck happened on Oak Patch Road at around 2:57 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3.
A preliminary investigation determined that a 26-year-old was riding a Yamaha R6L northbound on Oak Patch Road when they crashed into the driver’s side of a Ford Fiesta that was making a southbound turn from an apartment complex.
The factors that led to the vehicles colliding in the roadway were not immediately determined.
Officers from the Eugene Police Department and emergency personnel immediately responded to the site of the accident.
After evaluation, the motorcyclist was transported to a hospital and was said to be in stable condition.
The driver of the Ford remained at the scene after the crash. Police ruled out intoxication as a possible factor in the incident.
The EPD’s Major Collision Investigation Team is currently looking into the incident as they work to establish the circumstances that led to the wreck.
