Encinitas, CA – A 17-year-old girl who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Encinitas on Friday night has been identified by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Seraphina Rose Fadick, of Escondido, was killed in the incident that took place on El Camino del Norte at La Quebrada shortly after 7:15 p.m. on Friday, July 10.

According to San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, Fadick was attempting to walk across the street when she was hit by a vehicle. The involved motorist reported that the sun’s rays may have affected his vision and couldn’t see Fadick crossing the street.

The report indicates that Fadick was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver stayed at the scene and was cooperative with law enforcement. No arrest was made in the incident.

The exact circumstances of the accident remain under investigation by the San Diego County Sherriff’s Department.
