Preliminary reports indicate that a black Kia was traveling northbound on Cameron Park Drive when it drifted into the sidewalk and struck a pedestrian, who was also headed north. It’s still unclear why the driver swerved into the sidewalk.
The impact sent the pedestrian into a drainage ditch and the victim sustained major injuries.
The victim was rushed to a hospital for treatment and the victim died at the hospital. Authorities reported that the pedestrian was an adult but their age or gender were not specified.
The driver involved in the collision stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the investigators.
