Driver and 4 Juveniles Injured in Head-on Crash on La Sierra Avenue near Lake Mathews

Lake Mathews, CA – A driver was critically injured Tuesday following a head-on crash that also injured four Juveniles near Lake Mathews, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The traffic collision happened at about 7:30 p.m. on March 26 on La Sierra Avenue about a mile north of Cajalco Road.

As per the CHP, a man was driving a Toyota Corolla southbound on La Sierra when, for some reason, he let the car drift to the left and crossed over the double yellow lines into northbound lanes where it collided head-on with a northbound Telsa.

First responders found the Toyota driver unresponsive. A CHP officer performed CPR on the driver until the paramedics with the Riverside County Fire Department arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a regional medical center.

Reportedly, four juveniles who were in the Tesla sustained minor to major injuries and were also hospitalized.

The incident remains under investigation.
