San Diego, Calif. – Police arrested 76-year-old Donna Chapman Jacobs in connection to a hit-and-run pedestrian accident that happened last month at an intersection in North Park.
Police believe the City Heights woman was driving a Hyundai Ioniq on November 21 when she hit 42-year-old Stephen DeBow as he crossed the street at Utah Street and Polk Avenue.
DeBow died from his injuries six days after the accident.
Jacobs was booked Thursday on suspicion of hit-and-run causing death and gross vehicular manslaughter. She has since been released after posting bail.

San Diego, Calif. – A 42-year-old man, identified as Stephen Debow of Del Mar, has died from injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle at an intersection in San Diego Last week Tuesday, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
Stephen Debow died at around 3:21 a.m. November 27, at Scripps Mercy Hospital, San Diego.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, Bebow was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Utah Street and Polk Avenue in San Diego.
Law enforcement and fire crews were dispatched to the scene. Paramedics also responded to the scene and provided lifesaving measures to the patient and transported him to Scripps Mercy Hospital Emergency Department. Doctors at the hospital determined that Debow had suffered multiple blunt force injuries.
Debow was admitted to the hospital and his condition deteriorated throughout his admit until he passed on Monday, November 27 at about 3:21 a.m.
The incident remains under investigation.
