Camarillo, CA. – The Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office identified the two men who died last week in a car collision in Camarillo as Dong Shan Ma and Mason W. Ryan.
Both men were aged 21 and Goleta residents.
The wreck occurred just before 3 a.m. on Monday, March 17 on northbound Highway 101 near Carmen Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pair was in a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta stopped in the highway's center median when a 2015 Ford Mustang hit their car from behind.
The Jetta burst into flames after the impact.
Both men died from injuries they sustained in the accident.
According to the medical examiner's office, Ma died from blunt-force head and chest injuries, while Ryan's cause of death was inhalation of products of combustion and thermal injuries. Their deaths were ruled accidental.
The 19-year-old Santa Barbara man driving the Mustang suffered unspecified injuries.

Camarillo, CA – Two people were killed and another injured following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 101 in Camarillo early Monday morning.
The wreck happened at around 3 a.m. on the northbound State Route 101 at Carmen Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash. However, the manner in which they collided was not immediately established.
Two people died in the crash and a third person was injured.
The identities of the deceased were not immediately disclosed.
All lanes of the highway lanes were shut down and traffic was diverted at Carmen Drive while crews worked to clear the scene and investigate the cause of the crash.
