San Benito, CA. – An on-duty San Benito County Sheriff's deputy was injured in a Friday morning car crash in Hollister.
The 1 a.m. accident happened on Highway 156 north of Fairview Road.
The deputy was reportedly stopped waiting to make a left turn on the highway when his patrol car was rear-ended by another car.
The impact of the collision pushed the patrol car into the opposite lanes, where it collided head-on with another car.
The deputy sustained a concussion and other minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
One of the involved drivers was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
