The driver of the second car, a 23-year-old woman, was hospitalized with unknown injuries

Victorville, CA. – A San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy died after the pursuit of a suspect ended in a crash on Monday afternoon in Victorville.
The deadly collision happened around 12:09 p.m. at the intersection of Seneca and El Evado roads.
Deputy Hector Cuevas Jr. was driving through the intersection while a chasing stolen vehicle when he collided with another car that was making a turn at the intersection.
Cuevas, a six-year law enforcement veteran stationed in Victorville, was killed in the accident.
The driver of the second car, a 23-year-old woman, was hospitalized with unknown injuries.
The suspect, Ryan Dwayne Turner Jr., 22 of San Bernardino, was arrested for vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and evading a peace officer causing death or serious injury.
More details about the accident were not released.
