Calaveras County, California (March 19, 2022) – Dennis Willis, 71, of Stockton, was airlifted after a motorcycle collision in Calaveras County on Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident happened at about 11:45 a.m. March 14, on Highway 12 near Camanche Parkway South. 

According to CHP, Willis was riding a motorcycle west on Highway 12 when he swerved into the eastbound side and sideswiped an oncoming Toyota 4Runner SUV driven by Charles Piece of Elk Grove.

Dennis Willis Hurt in Calaveras County Collision on Highway 12 

Willis sustained major injuries and was flown to a Modesto hospital for treatment.

The crash led to the closure of the highway for nearly 45 minutes.

Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
