The driver of one of the cars was arrested on suspicion of murder and DUI causing injury

Temecula, CA. – 39-year-old David Heard of Murrieta has been identified as the pedestrian who died in a multi-vehicle collision on Friday evening in Temecula.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened at the intersection of Rancho California Road and Riesling Court, east of Interstate 15.
Three vehicles and a pedestrian were involved in the collision.
Heard was killed in the crash, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau.
Two passengers from one of the vehicles involved were taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
The driver of one of the cars, 38-year-old Jonathan Ruiz, was arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of murder and DUI causing injury.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
