Darin Chan Identified as Motorcyclist Killed in Livermore Motorcycle Crash

Livermore, CA. – 37-year-old Darin Chuck Ming Chan was the rider who died after colliding with a car Monday morning at an intersection in Livermore, the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau reported.

The incident occurred around 4 a.m. at Airway Boulevard and Isabel Avenue.

According to investigators, the Livermore resident was stopped at a traffic light on westbound Airway Boulevard, preparing to turn right onto northbound Isabel Avenue.

The rider lost control of the bike while she began to turn. She traveled across Isabel Avenue and collided with a car slowing for a red light while preparing to turn left.

The motorcycle then struck a concrete barrier.

Chan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 35-year-old Modesto resident driving the car was not injured. He called 911 and has been cooperating with investigators.

Authorities closed one lane of southbound Isabel Avenue near I-580 for about four hours during the investigation.
