San Francisco, CA – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a major collision that left a motorcyclist seriously injured on Interstate 280 in Daly City on Tuesday afternoon.
The collision occurred at about 12:30 on southbound I-280 just north of the Eastmoor Avenue off-ramp.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a sports motorcycle collided with a gray Toyota Corolla. The motorcyclist was found lying in the slow lane following the crash, and the motorcycle was blocking the off-ramp.
The rider sustained serious injuries, including a broken leg, and was transported to a hospital for treatment. The motorcyclist was conscious and breathing. No arrests have been reported.
Emergency responders, including fire personnel and medical teams, arrived at the scene to assist the injured. Authorities temporarily shut down the Eastmoor Avenue off-ramp and closed at least one lane as they worked at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
