According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident happened around 2:20 p.m. on April 20 near Velasco Avenue and Accacia Street in the city’s Visitacion Valley area, which is near Daly City.

Two Cyclists Severely Hurt in Crash Involving Daly City Police Car at Velasco Ave and Accacia St

San Francisco, CA – Two cyclists were seriously injured when they were struck by a Daly City police patrol vehicle Monday afternoon near a San Francisco intersection.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the incident happened around 2:20 p.m. on April 20 near Velasco Avenue and Accacia Street in the city’s Visitacion Valley area, which is near Daly City.

San Francisco police and firefighters responded to the scene and found an e-bike and a Daly City patrol vehicle involved in the accident.

Two riders on the e-bike were hospitalized in serious condition. The victims were identified as an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old.

According to the Daly City Police Department, their officer was driving westbound on Velasco Avenue when he hit an e-bike that was turning onto Velasco from the northbound direction.

There was no police pursuit at the time of the accident, Daly City police reported.

San Francisco police officers are investigating the incident.
