Crook County, OR.- A 15-year-old was killed and another seriously hurt when two motorcycles collided in Crook County on Saturday night, according to the Crook County Sheriff’s Office.
The deadly incident was reported at around 9:23 p.m. December 6, 2025, on Southeast Indian Lane.
The two teens were riding motorcycles when, for unknown reasons, they collided head-on and came to a stop in the roadway.
One of the riders was declared deceased at the scene while the second, who suffered serious injuries, was transported by Airlink to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend.
According to deputies, impairment was not suspected to have played a role in the accident. The investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
Residents are urged to stay vigilant when navigating busy intersections, especially when motorcycles are passing by.
Crook County remains a hotspot for traffic collisions in Oregon, consistently recording a high number of collisions compared other counties of the same size. According to Oregon Department of Transportation, there were a total of 294 traffic collisions resulting in 144 injuries and fatalities in 2023. Most of the accidents in the year were off-road vehicle accidents, which accounted for almost 38% of the total accidents. In 2023, the country experienced a high number of motorcycle accidents, with 15% of all collisions being motorcycle-related. Most of the accidents were noted to have been caused by driver error.
