Crestline, CA – One person suffered major injuries in a head-on crash at an intersection in Crestline late Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities reported that a silver sedan and a black Jeep collided head-on, blocking lanes at the intersection. The impact caused all lanes to be temporarily shut down as emergency crews responded to the scene.
One party remained trapped inside a vehicle following the crash, and fire personnel extricated the individual. The injured person was transported to Mountain Community Hospital with major injuries, including complaints of pain to both legs. No arrests were reported in connection with the Crestline crash.
The cause of the two-vehicle head-on collision remains under investigation as officers work to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
Emergency responders worked to remove the trapped victim and clear the damaged vehicles from the roadway. Towing services were requested to assist with removing both vehicles involved.
The crash caused significant traffic disruption in the area as all lanes at the intersection were blocked for a period before reopening. The roadway was cleared shortly after 12:26 p.m.
The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
