Cleotide Delgado Killed in Mendocino County Accident on State Route 20 near Potter Valley Road

Mendocino County, California (March 29, 2022) – Cleotide Rodriguez Delgado, 49, of Ukiah was killed in a car collision that took place near Buffalo Ranch in Mendocino County on Monday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened on State Route 20 east of Potter Valley Road at about 5:28 p.m. March 28.

CHP said a 60-year-old Ukiah man was driving a blue 2003 Mini Cooper east on Highway 20 when he lost control on the standing water and drifted into the westbound side, where he collided with a 2018 Toyota Tacoma driven by a 66-year-old Oregon man.

The Mini Cooper spun out of control and collided with a 2019 Ford Explorer being driven by a 49-year-old Lake County man.

The two occupants of the Mini Cooper, a male driver and a female passenger, were both pulled out of the vehicle.

The driver was hospitalized with major injuries while his passenger, later identified as Delgado, died in the crash.

The driver of the Ford Explorer had moderate injuries while the driver of the Tacoma was uninjured.

Alcohol and drugs were not suspected in the incident.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
