Preliminary investigation findings indicate that deputies with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office had been pursuing a white 2002 Lexus on I-205 near West Linn for a speeding violation

Clackamas County, OR – One person was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 205 in Clackamas County Wednesday evening, according to the Oregon State Police.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 7:10 p.m. on February 11, 2026, on southbound Interstate 205 near milepost 6.
Preliminary investigation findings indicate that deputies with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office had been pursuing a white 2002 Lexus on I-205 near West Linn for a speeding violation.
While continuing southbound during the pursuit, the Lexus, driven by 54-year-old Douglas Richard York of Crooked River Ranch, rear-ended a gray Volkswagen Golf operated by 34-year-old Christian James Coerper of Oregon City.
After the impact, the Lexus lost control and rolled over, ejecting York onto the roadway, where he was subsequently struck by a gray Toyota Corolla driven by 31-year-old Maya Rose Shaw of Sherwood.
York was pronounced dead at the scene. No other fatalities were reported in the Clackamas County-crash, and authorities have not specified whether other individuals sustained injuries.
Officials later confirmed that York was the subject of a statewide felony warrant and a statewide BOLO issued earlier that day. Questions regarding the pursuit have been directed to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
The Oregon State Police are leading the investigation into the fatal three-vehicle collision.
Interstate 205 was impacted for approximately four hours while troopers conducted the on-scene investigation and cleared the wreckage. The Oregon Department of Transportation assisted with traffic control during the closure.
The crash remains under investigation.
