22-Year-Old Citrus Heights Man in Big Sur Crash on Highway 1 near Bixby Bridge
Big Sur, California (July 19, 2022) – A 22-year-old Citrus Heights man was killed in a Monday afternoon motorcycle accident in Big Sur, authorities said.
The crash occurred at about 3:17 p.m. on Highway 1, north of Bixby Bridge.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the Citrus Heights man was headed southbound on the highway on a 2009 Harley-Davidson when he lost control and drifted into the northbound lane.
Unfortunately, the rider collided with a 2018 Honda Clarity.
Sadly, the 22-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Traffic on the highway was stopped for an unknown period due to the mishap.
The crash remains under investigation.
