The boy was taken to hospital where he later died
Castroville, CA. – A teen died in a crash involving a dirt bike on Friday morning in Castroville, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash was happened at about 11:57 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Cooper and Pomber streets.
A 16-year-old boy from Castroville was riding a dirt bike westbound on Pomber Street and was struck by a Ram pickup truck traveling southbound on Cooper Street.
The boy was taken to hospital where he later died.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 35-year-old man from Hollister, was unhurt.
Authorities do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
