The driver of one of the big rigs was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Thousand Palms, CA. – 49-year-old Carolina Navarrete De Leal, of Coachella, has been identified as one of the two people who died in a car crash on Tuesday night in Thousand Palms.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 1 p.m. on the 10 Freeway near Washington Street.
Two big rigs and a car were involved in the crash. Authorities did not immediately establish the events leading up to the accident.
De Leal and a second person were killed in the accident, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
