Carmichael, CA – At least two people suffered major injuries following a high-speed two-vehicle collision in Carmichael on Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP logs indicate the collision occurred during a pursuit and involved a vehicle traveling the wrong way.
Emergency responders arrived to find two elderly occupants trapped inside a vehicle that was struck by the speeding vehicle.
Sacramento Fire Department crews responded to the scene and extricated the victims from the wreckage. Both occupants sustained major injuries and were taken to Mercy San Juan Medical Center for treatment.
Tow trucks were requested to remove the damaged vehicles from the scene as investigators worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
