According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 5:40 a.m. in the 1800 block of North Main Street, near Ygnacio Valley Road.

The man was riding his bicycle on his way to work in Walnut Creek when he was struck by a car.

The bicyclist was killed in the collision.
