At least one person died at the crash scene. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office responded to the area following the fatality.
Another victim was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in unknown condition.
About 30 feet of chain-link fence near the freeway was damaged, prompting Caltrans to respond.
