Burson, CA. – One person suffered serious injuries Tuesday evening after a head-on collision at Warren Road and South Burson Road, north of Highway 26 in the Burson area of Calaveras County.
First responders from Calaveras Consolidated Fire arrived to find two vehicles with major front-end damage, including an SUV crushed on the driver’s side.
Fluids had leaked onto the roadway, requiring cleanup before crews could clear the scene.
According to the California Highway Patrol, one victim was airlifted to a Valley hospital due to the severity of their injuries.
CHP officers directed traffic for about an hour while tow crews removed the wreckage.
The San Andreas CHP Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
