San Carlos, CA. – A boy died and two girls were injured after they were struck by a car in the San Carlos area of San Diego on Monday morning.

According to the San Diego Police, the accident happened around 7:30 a.m. near Lake Badin Avenue and Jackson Drive.

The children, all 12 years of age, were walking to Pershing Middle School and were crossing Jackson Drive when they were struck by an eastbound car.

All three children were taken to Rady Children’s Hospital, where the boy succumbed to his injuries.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
