Bobby Stanfill Injured in Lassen County Motorcycle Crash on Highway 36 near Fredonyer Summit

Lassen County, California (October 10, 2022) – Bobby Stanfill, 42, of Westwood, was injured in a motorcycle collision that took place in Lassen County on October 3, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck occurred on Highway 36 east of Fredonyer Summit at about 4:49 p.m.

CHP said Stanfill was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle west on Highway 36 when he failed to negotiate a curve and swerved across the double yellow lines into the eastbound side.

The motorcycle collided with an eastbound 2017 Kia Sedona driven by Ronald Mccart, 40, of Antelope.

Stanfill and his passenger, Cheryl Morrell, 43, of Westwood, were both ejected from the motorcycle.

CHP said the riders were flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno with major injuries. Stanfill sustained a shattered femur while Morrell had a compound leg fracture.

Mccart stayed at the scene and rendered aid to the injured parties.

Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be factors in the incident.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
